  • Infection – when the white blood cell count is low due to chemotherapy
  • Injury
  • Bone metastases can cause risk of fracture or be taking medicine can weaken the bone and further massage therapy can cause a fracture.
  • Patients who have taken radiation therapy can have skin breakdown from rubbing.
  • Oils or lotions used in therapy can result in skin infection or allergy.

If a doctor or oncologist recommends massage therapy, then only consult the massage center and attain massage.
